University School Addition

The University School, a pre-K through 8th grade school located at the University of Tulsa, required additional space to accommodate a larger student body and various additional subjects. The new addition houses a large, open, acoustic classroom space, storm shelters, restrooms, an office, storage areas, a break area/small kitchen, and two separate access doors/vestibules.

The addition was constructed immediately adjacent to the existing University School structure, which was fully functional and occupied during construction. In fact, the job site was so close to the often-used playground space, our field team routinely returned lost balls back over the job site fence to the playing children. As you can imagine, safety and job site security was incredibly important over the life of the job and the utmost care and concern was taken to ensure the well-being and safety of staff, faculty, and students at all times.
